The vines, exclusively Sangiovese, are followed throughout the vegetative cycle with extreme care and attention, treated with traditional methods only. The grapes, thinned out green, are further selected at the time of harvest: this allows for a limited, but high quality production. Fermentation takes place in a completely natural way, respecting the most ancient practices. Our Brunello wine comes from maturing in
medium-sized oak barrels (no more than thirty hectoliters) which lasts for four years.
The bottling, which is carried out without any filtration, allows the refinement in the glass which lasts from eight to six months prior to marketing. The result is a traditional wine, very aromatic “plumy and chocolate cherry character” as highlighted in the motivation for the judgment of the International Wine Challenge in London, which defined our Brunello 2000 as “old school”, awarding the silver medal.
Among the awards received by our Brunello, we recall, recently, the gold medal awarded to Brunello di Montalcino 2016 at the London Wine Competition, and the silver medals awarded, respectively, by USA Wine Ratings and occurring the Best Italian Wine Selections for China 2021. Our Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2016 finally obtained a gold medal at the Japan Awards 2022.
